Timeshare Legacy Sale: Cedar Lake Country Resort Hits the Market
Advancetown’s Cedar Lake Country Resort and 60 Two-Bed Units Sold ‘As Is’

One of the Gold Coast’s original timeshare resorts is being sold.
Avanti Commercial has been tapped to sell the Cedar Lake Country Resort at Advancetown under instructions from Simon Thorn and Bradley Tonks of PKF, acting as Trustees.
The resort, which sits on a 35.72ha site, includes 60 two-bedroom units, and is being sold “as is”.

Agent Lachlan Harris, of Avanti, said the complex had great potential amid the state government and Gold Coast City Council’s renewed push for nature-based tourism in and around the hinterland.
“We have had more than 300 inquiries from private families to schools, camping groups, hotel operators, religious groups and government subsidies housing groups,” he said.
“It was originally built for the people who built Hinze Dam and it is of interest as the dam is a logical place for rowing at the 2032 Olympics.
“It is going to be a highly contested sale.”
Mr Harris said the property was being sold as “a freehold going concern on an ‘as is where is’ basis and includes all unit furnishings, operation fixtures and fittings, plant and workshop equipment, vehicles” which was located in the Gold Coast nature-based tourism program precinct”.
“With its serene setting, extensive facilities and proximity to the Gold Coast’s attractions, Cedar Lake Country Resort is well-suited for various residential and commercial uses, including as a leisure destination or redevelopment project,” marketing material for the sale reads.
“The sale represents a rare chance to secure a substantial property in a sought-after location.”

Among the features of the complex are: a three-bedroom house which has been used for the manager; a restaurant and bar; guest amenities include tennis courts, a swimming pool and sauna, children’s playgrounds and a minigolf course.
The complex is being described as “structurally sound and an excellent opportunity for a new owner to acquire a well-maintained and established property”.
“This lush, green expanse offers a stark contrast to the bustling coastline, boasting World Heritage-listed rainforests, cascading waterfalls, and unique ecological treasures,” the material reads.
“It is here, where the green meets the gold, that the future of tourism lies, presenting an unparalleled opportunity for investment.”
