Avanti is excited to provide an update on The Coastal Clinic, a new state-of-the-art facility in Southport, Gold Coast. Home to leading Gold Coast Specialist Plastic Surgeons Dr Drew Cronin and Dr David Sparks, the clinic will offer the latest technology and treatments, as well as consultations in both surgical and non-surgical aesthetics.
Construction of The Coastal Clinic began in December 2024, and significant progress has already been made. With HNKN as the builder and Avanti Project & Development Manangement as the Project Manager and Superintendent, this project is progressing steadily towards its target completion, with the clinic set to be operational in early 2026.
HNKN has successfully poured the ground slab and completed the formwork and in-slab services for Level 1. This week, the Level 1 slab is set to be poured, marking a key milestone. Following this, the team will focus on completing the formwork and column reinforcement for Level 2, followed by the raising of scaffolding to continue the build upwards.
As with any complex project, a few early-stage challenges required a proactive approach. Initially, the architectural and interior design drawings were not fully coordinated, leading to inconsistencies. Avanti worked closely with both the architectural and interior design teams to resolve these issues, ensuring the documentation was accurate and clear for the contractors to price correctly during the tendering process. Additionally, the Development Approval (DA) included a large planter box around the upper floor, which presented a potential waterproofing risk. Avanti collaborated with HNKN and the town planner to modify the design while preserving the original design intent.
To help mitigate potential delays, Avanti implemented an early works building approval and executed a contract with HNKN to ensure the project could maintain momentum while key approvals were being finalised.
